The gang went to the local pool for some fun in water. Hikari asked Makoto to give Taisuke a ticket because she was too shy to do it by herself. At the pool, Makoto is teaching Kotonoha how to swim; Taisuke was on water slides with Hikari and Setsuna, while Sekai went around swimming by herself. Makoto has completely fallen for Sekai, hinting her that he wants to be with her instead. Sekai kept reminding him that he’s Kotonoha’s boyfriend and cannot be with her, and told him to forget about the “practice.” After everyone had gone home, Makoto tried to run to Sekai’s house, but found her in front of train station instead. Makoto confessed his love for her. With this episode, the op credits were changed to crop out the nipples of Sekai and Kotonoha. Likely to be reverted in the DVD release.
I give credit for the writers of this series taking it this quickly. From the previous episode, there was the hint that Makoto had second thoughts about going out with Katsura. The way Sekai led on Makoto on the rooftop in ep. 4, it hinted there was something more. But when Makoto grabbed Sekai when they met outside the station at the end, the dynamics really changed. Ugh.. at least we could actually tell his true feelings… but the whole ending of the 5th ep is ouch
Episode 6 will be VERY interesting on watching who reacts to what. But, I think Makoto and Sekai will keep it a secret for a while, don’t you think?
The other end of the relationship is wavering, as Makoto complains to Sekai about how he thought having a girlfriend would be a lot more fun and a lot less work. With Sekai no longer joining them for lunch on the rooftop, Makoto and Katsura are free to…play around a little. I’ve watched the first 3 episodes and I’ve got to say WOW I’m really digging this anime! I want to slap the taste of out Makoto he is dumb why should he have to rely on Sekai so damn much!I like the characters though they start grow on you and I think the make up scenes and stuff were really cute lol. They are learning about relationships and that’s cool to see. I honestly don’t want to see a bad ending but if they do I want it to be memorable and something that makes sense not just put in there to please fans but I think the way the story is headed it will be a train wreck for all the characters and something is going to happen. Who knows so far I’ve got to say i’m very pleased with this show and i’m really digging it I really hope all the episodes continue to be good now that ep 4 is out of the way they can start delving deeper into the main aspect of the story. should be very interesting.
I have to say that if anyone was somewhat bored after half of this episode due to the repetitively of things and no exciting plot twists, the final line of this episode would surely change their minds. I say this because I did become a little uninterested, Makoto’s ‘Dating Kotonoha is tiring’ would seem to mark a change in the progression of the story. Originally it has been mostly Makoto and Kotonoha, but being a single season series, we all knew Sekai would come into play soon enough. If I know anything about Sekai, I’d say she’d try and keep Makoto and Konohana together initially, but will soon and surely try and steal Makoto from her friend.
So Makoto scores in the first episode with Sekai, and now again with Kotonoha. Things seem to be going pretty well for now, despite him being such a retard. Yup, I hate him now. I usually don’t hate harem leads no matter what happens, but seeing Makoto do the stupidest things possible…
